The Database Manager is a critical management position assigned to complex projects requiring multiple customer and department interactions. Your job is to create an environment and team that delivers outstanding software as fast as possible while having fun. In addition to other assigned duties, Database Managers have the following Responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead cross functional team
  • Responsible for conducting effective requirement planning sessions and application design sessions with cross functional groups
  • Ensures successful development and application support strategy is implemented
  • Encourages collaborative efforts and camaraderie with on-site and off-site team members
  • Architects .NET and database-based solutions by studying existing technology architecture; analyzing browser compatibility techniques; evaluating solution alternatives; developing prototypes; and writing detailed technical requirements
  • Work with team to create coding standards
  • Delegates tasks, organizes, mentors and motivates a team of talented software developers and DBAs
  • Fosters a culture of collaboration in all areas of technology and instills the principles of this culture in a team of developers/DBAs
  • Works together with software developers and analysts to plan and execute projects
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring and training employees

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 10 years+ experience in Application Development & Maintenance on the Microsoft Platform. Oracle/SQL Server Databases
  • Experience in managing multiple projects concurrently
  • Analytical Skills with ability to truly understand the full scope and impact of the project requirements
  • Experience in Requirements Gathering & Documentation, Risk & Issue Management
  • Project Reporting, Ability to present to Customers & manage Customer relationships
  • Ability to Architect schemas to allow for best performance, ease of maintenance, and optimal performance
  • Strong Oracle and SQL Server experience writing complex queries, stored functions, procedures and packages
  • Strong understanding of database design, develop conceptual, logical and physical data models
  • Develop Entity Relationship Diagrams
  • Deep Development experience on RDBMS specially on MS SQL 2000/2005/2008
  • People management and customer management skill is a must.
  • Exposure to Project scheduling, software designing and management tools like Microsoft project, Visio
  • Experience in handling any SQL related programming, debugging, developing stored procedures, will be critical for performance. Any other Test-tools for Unit
  • Testing, Tracing bugs / performance in online environment is a MUST.
  • Deep Development experience in:
    • C# Oracle 10g, 11g, 12c
    • ANSI Standard SQL
    • Oracle standard SQL
    • PL/SQL,
    • NET MVC, Oracle Forms and Reports 6i
  • Linux Shell Scripting:
    • KSH
    • BASH
    • Entity Framework, SOA architecture.
    • MS SQL Server and related experience
  • Preferred: Development experience in
    • Oracle SQL Developer
    • Oracle SQL Data Modeler
    • Oracle Application Express
    • Oracle Forms and Reports 12c
    • Data warehousing
